Due to the increasing number of reports of SARS-Cov2 infections (often preceded by reports of high-risk contact), we recommend that an internal "university quarantine" be made mandatory also for fully vaccinated persons.
University quarantine applies to individuals who have had high-risk contact with an infected person. Every student, who had contact with infected person is obligated to complete the form in the Path 2. The decision whether the university quarantine is applicable is made by the coordinator on the basis of the form. The absence will not be justified if it wasn't preceded by sending the form to the coordinator.
University quarantine means refraining from contact classes/work at UMW. This obligation will apply to students, PhD students, University employees.
The length of University quarantine depends on whether the high-risk contact is still ongoing or if it has ended:
• Individuals who have had high-risk contact with an infected person but the contact was a one-time event or there was an opportunity to isolate themselves from the infected person will be internally quarantined for 5 days after contact with the infected person.
• Persons who have had contact with the infected person but the contact continues and there is no possibility of separation from the infected person (e.g. sharing a flat) will be subject to internal quarantine for a period of not less than 12 days.
