Covid 19. Regulations - reminder

The Crisis Management Team would like to draw your attention to the extremely dynamic development of the epidemic both in Poland and the entire region. Being vaccinated does not exempt you from abiding by the health and safety recommendations – wearing masks, maintaining social distance and ensuring the safety of others.

We have no data on the infection numbers concerning the more infectious SARS-CoV-2 variants. The Team would like to remind you of the mandatory guidelines for conducting classes at the Wrocław Medical University – LINK

Remember that although the number of vaccinated persons is steadily increasing, this does exempt anyone from abiding by the applicable laws and regulations and ensuring the health and safety of other people.

It is forbidden to enter common areas without masks, conduct classes while not wearing your mask properly, fail to observe the social distancing requirements or exceed the permitted number of students in rooms. Academics are asked to only conduct classes on-site if the nature of such classes requires students to be physically present.

We also remind you of our University's procedure for handling infections and coming into contact with infected persons, which is updated accordingly as regulations change.

New infection handling procedure

The following procedure is still valid, subject to the following restriction: RECOVERED PATIENTS (whose infection had been confirmed by a PCR test) are not subject to quarantine after coming into contact with an infected person. Similarly, vaccinated persons are not quarantined after coming into contact with an infected person (provided that such contact occurred AFTER A MINIMUM OF 7 DAYS AFTER TAKING THE SECOND DOSE).

Please note that such individuals should still report any instances of contact with infected persons, as the epidemic developments at the University must be closely monitored. The new report forms have been adapted to the new circumstances.

Path 1 – infection confirmed by a test – form link

Path 2 – individuals who came into contact with an infected person – form link

Path 3 – individuals with symptoms indicating that they might be infected – form link

University student and personnel infection statistics are published every week in the "coronavirus" tab on our website: https://www.umed.wroc.pl/koronawirus

Should you notice any deviations from these rules, please do not hesitate to report them to covid@umed.wroc.pl so that the Crisis Management Team may take the appropriate action.

His Magnificence Rector Piotr Ponikowski accepted the recommendations submitted by the Team. They apply to:

  • Reducing on-site classes and meetings to a necessary minimum and conducting them in an online format.
  • Commencing unannounced inspections during classes with the possibility of imposing penalties on academics who do not comply with the recommendations for the summer semester.
  • Introducing a rotating work pattern for the University administrative staff – with the staff divided into teams – as agreed with the heads of organisational units.

We urge you to act responsibly to ensure not only your own safety but also the health and safety of all our families and colleagues. It appears that the infection curve in this epidemic wave is still ahead of us.
